Formed in 2024, the Friends of the Ann Arbor Public Schools Libraries is the first Friends group dedicated to a public school library system in the nation! Please join us!

What challenges are we working to solve?

  • Promoting equity across all libraries
  • Facilitating volunteers for librarians
  • Raising money for specific actions
  • Advocating for libraries, including preparation for book challenges
  • Helping weather the impact of the district budget crisis

  • Learn about how the “Friends of the AAPS School Libraries” became the first such group in the nation!
  • Understand our current library programs and the challenges they face
  • Identify opportunities to volunteer, advocate, and raise money on behalf of our school libraries

There is no need to RSVP. Please join us if you are able. There is no Zoom option.

You Can Help?

As a small, growing organization, we seek help in several areas, including volunteering for shelving and processing books, fundraising and writing grants for specific initiatives, advocating for library issues at state and federal levels, and preparing for book challenges, and more.
